Our team has just returned from our annual geological field trip, this time to the beautiful Alpes-Maritimes and Haute Provence regions of southern France. Led by Dr. Lawrence Amy and Dr. Vincent Roche, the trip took us through several key locations, including Peïra Cava, Annot, and Montagne de Chalufy.
A key focus of the trip was studying turbidites and structural geology, which are critical for understanding deep-water sedimentary and tectonic processes. We explored:
– Deep-water processes and turbidite systems
– Onlap geometries
– Syn-depositional tectonics
– Depositional facies and subaerial analogues of submarine flows
In addition to the technical learning, this trip is also about strengthening our team. We enjoyed delicious food, explored beautiful landscapes, and spent quality time together, reinforcing the teamwork and collaboration that is so important in our daily work at Exploro.
These insights and experiences are essential as we continue to expand our geological knowledge and apply it to real-world projects, ensuring precision and expertise in the services we provide to our clients. The stunning landscapes and complex geological formations have provided fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of sedimentary systems.
This annual field trip is an important part of our commitment to staying at the forefront of geological research and building a strong, collaborative team. We look forward to applying these learnings to ongoing and future projects. Stay tuned for more updates from us!
